Day 2 in the $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. event came a ton of big named players coming back for action, but many would hit the rail far sooner than they imagined. Among the early fallen on Sunday were Erik Seidel, Mike Matusow, Daniel Negreanu, and Steve Zolotow.

The luck of Phil Ivey has the poker world fretting just a little bit more, however, as he’s assumed to have millions of dollars riding on bracelet bets during the 2010 World Series of Poker. For those who have put money up not in favor of Ivey, we wish you the best of luck – Ivey is close to the top of the leaderboard after Day 2.

A quiet Phil Ivey had his eyes stuck to the screen, and he let out a nice giggle after golfer Dustin Johnson’s shot montage hit the television. The story at Ivey’s table quickly turned south, however, after Scott Seiver apparently told Steve Sung, “nice hand” after Seiver had won the pot. Ivey, sitting next to Sung and clearly distress by Seiver’s comments, shook his head in disgruntled fashion.

Day 1 Ends with Little Leading on Chips

The game kick off with a total of 885 players occupying the Pavilion Room having the same goal of winning the World Series of Poker bracelet and the swooning cash prizes. At the end of the day, there were only 95 players who stand still. Garnering 129,000 chips is Jonathan Little and next to him was Christian Harder with 116,000 chips, third is Tex Barch with 115,400 chips, Matt Zoorob (106,000 chips) and Nenad Medic (104,400 chips) on the 4th and 5th respectively.

James Akenhead performance was upside down in the entire day, however he still end up with a total of 52,100 chips.

The climax of the day was the two players who win in this event last year and still kicking, it was Jason Mercier (25,500 chips) and Steve “pikappraider” Burkholder (32,400 chips) that are still qualified for Day 2 tournament.  The game will be back tomorrow at 2:30pm PST and the final table is scheduled to be staged.  Another exciting  tournament that viewers should not miss. The chips status is not the basis for the prediction of winners, who knows, unexpectedly a novice can grab the title.

With her wicked sense of humour, keen intellect and all-American good looks, Lacey has taken the poker world by storm. After announcing her exit from online poker room Absolute Poker, Lacey Jones inked with Full Tilt Poker in a new sponsorship deal.

Jones has repute as a strong poker player and an excellent event hostess, so it was no shocker that she was signed to another poker site.

Jones’ arrival at Full Tilt was not really a blow to anyone, as the Player/hostess/model has an ongoing relationship with the site. It was announced right before her departure from Absolute that she would be one of the presenters for Full Tilt’s bonus code Doubles Poker Championship that premieres in mid-July. Jones is presently in Las Vegas, playing in the World Series of Poker. She sits in 74th place in Event 22 after the Day One action in Ladies No Limit Hold’em Championship.
